a little bit about view camera

you can see pictures of the camera i used in previous entries.
the film is 4x5 inches. large film.
it was really nice to work with film that big. more detail. you can blow it up more without losing quality.
some of my negatives have scratches on them from when i developed them..
this film is developed in a tray. you put on some latex gloves and dive right into the chemicals with your hands. you shuffle the film around for the specified length of time, moving it from developer, stop bath, fixer, hypo eliminator, and water bath.
it's a lot of fun, but the fixer smells awful and always makes me cough.
next semester i go back to working with 35mm film, so that will be good to work with again. i'll have to get used to the smaller format again.

some stuff i did for this class

all right. i didn't have enough time to scan in all my negatives from this class. but i got a couple scanned in. i'll have to get the rest in sometime later.

The first 2 are from the landscape/architecture assignment. There are 6 total, but I only got these two scanned in.. My favorite one isn't scanned yet. Maybe I can sneak in tonight and scan it!
And the last 3 are from my final project. My theme was TREES. There are 4, but I only got 3 scanned in so far.

My View Camera!

These are shots of the view camera I'm using. The other girl in the shots is my view camera partner, Brenda. These shots were taken yesterday (Fri Sept 30) as we were working on our current project.

Once I get finished prints of my view camera assignments I will post them here. It will be about 2 weeks before the first project is finished.
