a little bit about view camera

you can see pictures of the camera i used in previous entries.
the film is 4x5 inches. large film.
it was really nice to work with film that big. more detail. you can blow it up more without losing quality.
some of my negatives have scratches on them from when i developed them..
this film is developed in a tray. you put on some latex gloves and dive right into the chemicals with your hands. you shuffle the film around for the specified length of time, moving it from developer, stop bath, fixer, hypo eliminator, and water bath.
it's a lot of fun, but the fixer smells awful and always makes me cough.
next semester i go back to working with 35mm film, so that will be good to work with again. i'll have to get used to the smaller format again.
